Do you replace our existing stack?

Accepted Answer

No, not by default. If you run Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery, dbt, Airflow or Kafka, we work inside it. We propose a base-layer change only when the current one is the actual cause, and we show the arithmetic first. Analytics engineering and BI foundations — semantic models, metrics layers and dashboards — sit inside that work when you need them.

Question 2

Do you build new systems or only fix existing ones?

Accepted Answer

Both. The teardown tells us which comes first. If a system already runs, we map it and write the gap. If you are starting from scratch, the sprint scopes the first system to build.

Question 3

Do you need production access?

Accepted Answer

Not for the teardown or most of the sprint. Schemas, pipeline definitions, sample volumes and a conversation with whoever gets paged are usually enough. Implementation access is scoped and least-privilege under your controls.

Question 4

Where does it run: your cloud or ours?

Accepted Answer

Either. We can deploy into your AWS, GCP, Azure or on-prem environment, where data and credentials stay inside your boundary. Or we host and operate it under a retainer when there is no cloud team. You remain the data owner; we are the operator. We are an engineering team that runs infrastructure, not a certified hosting provider. If procurement needs certified infrastructure or a data-processing arrangement we cannot meet, we deploy into your account instead.

How does pricing and payment work?

The teardown is free. The architecture sprint is $2,000 USD fixed, excluding applicable taxes: half before kickoff and half when we send the report. Implementation is a separate statement of work priced from the backlog. A retainer is monthly, and you can cancel with 30 days’ notice. Payment, intellectual property and confidentiality for the sprint are in the terms.

What about time zones?

We are based in Bengaluru (IST). The teardown is a Cal.com slot you choose, so it can sit in a US or European morning. Longer delivery overlap is agreed in the sprint, not assumed.

What is DataKru, and is DataKru Atlas for sale?

DataKru is a free LIVE BETA: upload, pipelines and on-demand jobs. Scheduling, observability and governance are not live in the product yet. It is optional and not the default. DataKru Atlas is ROADMAP only and is not part of any statement of work.
